About
Brian Ray is a Davenport, Iowa native who started at the Daily Iowan in the summer of 1996 as a staff photographer and was promoted to photo editor from 1998 to 2000. After leaving the Daily Iowan Ray was hired by The Gazette as an intern and over the next nearly 14 years served as staff photographer, Iowa City chief photographer, and senior visual journalist. In December of 2013 Ray started as the first staff photographer for the University of Iowa athletics department. Brian and his wife, Joanna, have a son, Boston, and a daughter, Joslynn.
